Students will be able to list the causes of the Cold War. Students will be able to define the term "Containment," and be able to list the events, programs and people involved in its implementation in Europe and Asia. Students will be able to explain the foreign policy consequences as a result of our policy of containment. Students will be able to demonstrate the importance of people, places and ideas from this unit. Students will analyze and evaluate information taken from a variety formats and be able to apply this information within the writing process.

Students will pass an objective test at a minimum proficiency of 60%. Students will complete a written exam, according to the Helix Writing Rubric at a level of 3 or better. Other Possible Assessments Tools Students will write a position paper at 3 or better according to the Helix Writing Rubric Student will participate in a debate on some aspect of the Cold War. Students will complete a timed DBQ at a level of 3 or better according to The Helix Writing Rubric.
